Course Title: RSC15 - Statutory First Aid at Work
Location: RSS Training Centre or Customer's Premises
Duration: 4 Days
Max No. Delegates: 10

 

Who Should Attend: All levels of personnel who require a nationally recognised First Aid at Work Certificate to meet the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

 

Pre-Requisites:
  • HSE guidance on personnel selection state that potential first aiders should
  • Possess an aptitude to absorb new knowledge and skills
  • Be able to cope with stressful and physically demanding emergency procedures
  • Have duties that do not prevent them going immediately to an emergency

 

Course Outline:
  • Aims & principles of first aid.
  • Basic life support.
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Able to Dress Wounds

 

Teaching Methods:
The course consists of prepared lectures, video presentations and practical demonstrations. Information is based on current legislation, HSE guidance & manufacturer’s recommendations./td>

 

Assessment:
Delegates will be required to complete a written assessment (multi-choice questions) & demonstrate by means of practical exercises, controlled use of the equipment.
