Who Should Attend: Health & Safety Representative, Persons responsible for using & Inspecting Ladders /Stepladders, on Day to Day Jobs, I.E. Electricians, Plumbers, Fitters, Plasterers, Builders, Carpenters, General Maintenance Personnel etc

 

Pre-Requisites:
Delegates attending should be familiar with Using and the Safe Use & Inspection of Ladders/ Stepladder Criteria

 

Aims:
The course is designed to teach the principals of Safe use and Inspection of Ladders/ Stepladders and recognition of defects and unsafe equipment

 

Course Objectives:
  • Recognise defects and Limitations
  • Understand the Legal requirements affecting Ladders & Access equipment
  • Be aware of the different types of Ladders & Access equipment methods of manufacture and limitations of use.
  • Use comprehensive examination procedures.
  • Recognise & report defects of the equipment

  • Health & Safety 1974 act
  • Types of Ladders & Access equipment
  • Correct Working Angles & Ratio Distance
  • Risks & Hazards, Overhead & Below Ground, Stability, Secure working Surface, Overloading, Weather Conditions, Over-reaching, Transportation & Storage
  • Risk Assessments
  • Examination Procedure / Recognising Defects
  • Making Records / Reporting Defects / Fault Finding
